Cristina Turbatu, Managing Director, Girls in Tech Gibraltar, said: “Gibraltar is a key, internationally focused hub with technology playing a key role in both public and private sectors. Girls in Tech is here to deliver a successful and motivational platform for women to enter and succeed in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

“It is important for us to recognise that change must happen on all levels, regardless of gender, which is why the organisation provides its programmes and events as all-inclusive, meaning that both men and women are welcome to engage and participate”.

Shimon Akad, COO, Playtech said: “We’re delighted to be able to partner with the Gibraltar chapter of Girls in Tech. This is a first initiative of its kind here. We have very strong ties to Gibraltar and its business community and are great believers in diversity and inclusion. We strongly believe that a diverse workplace creates a highly engaging environment and a successful business.

“With more than 5,000 employees in 17 global locations we believe that diversity and inclusion makes us who we are and plays a huge part in helping us continue to grow as a successful, socially responsible, global organisation. We are very excited to partner with Girls in Tech to spread this message across Gibraltar and the wider gaming industry.”

Girls in Tech Gibraltar has a series of events planned for the rest of 2017. In order to ensure that the events roadmap is successfully delivered to its full potential, the Gibraltar chapter is actively seeking sponsorship and collaboration with further strategic partners. To date, the chapter has successfully attracted sponsorship from Playtech, La Sala Gibraltar and Sunborn Casino. All funds go towards the research, development, planning and successful execution of upcoming year’s events and activities.
