OPAP, the leading company in the games of chance industry in Greece, will be the club’s Major Sponsor for the second consecutive year, and will feature on the team’s official jersey through the popular game Pame Stoixima.

OPAP CEO, Damian Cope, stressed: “This is the second year of our partnership and Pame Stoixima will continue to appear on PAOK’s official jersey, both in the team’s matches in Greece, and in Europe for the Basketball Champions League. We are particularly pleased to implement joint actions with PAOK, focused in Thessaloniki, within the framework of our Corporate Responsibility program, and we look forward to the expansion of the support we provide to society and sports”.

On his part, the President and CEO of PAOK BC, Bane Prelevic stated:  “OPAP has always supported sport in practice and stands beside society with a series of corporate responsibility actions. It is very important to realize that your major sponsor does not only focus on the sporting side, but offers much more. This is why we are especially pleased and satisfied for the renewal of our partnership with OPAP. We had a successful partnership last year and we hope that this season will be even better”.

PAOK’s coach, Ilias Papatheodorou, mentioned: “We are very pleased for our partnership with OPAP. It is very important for partnerships of high importance not to focus only on the sporting side. This is why we believe it is important that we also participate, together with OPAP, in actions that will return to society the love it gives to all of us that are involved in sports, such as the renovation of pediatric hospitals, the Business Growth program and the Sports Academies”.

The team captain, Vaggelis Margaritis, said: “We are particularly pleased to be a part of the exceptional action that is the OPAP Stand for Children. We want to see the children inside stadiums and with the stand for children action we jointly provide the opportunity to children to come to the stadium, to watch our team’s matches, to enjoy the sport and to come closer to sports. It is very important, because the children are the future of sport”.

The event, which was held in Thessaloniki, was attended by the entire team, the members of the Board of Directors, technical director Nikos Stavropoulos, manager Telis Zournatsidis, as well as veteran basketball players of PAOK.

A reference point was the presentation of awards by OPAP’s CEO, Damian Cope and OPAP’s Chief Customer Officer, Petr Matejovsky, to coach Ilias Papatheodorou and athletes Antonis Koniaris, Vasilis Charalampopoulos and Thodoris Karras for winning the Eurobasket U20 championship with the Greek Youth National Team, in the summer of 2017.
