Betsson shedding 160 employees

Betsson Group, will be shedding 160 employees from the companies it has around the world as part of a general restructuring over the next few weeks.

This was revealed in an article published in The Times which said that this restructuring exercise will be carried out to ensure efficiency while also catering for its future economic growth.

In a statement in reaction to this, the Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Schembri said that the employees who will be losing their job in Malta will be absorbed by other Gaming companies. He expressed his satisfaction that Bettson Group would be retaining its headquarters in Malta.

Bettson was one of the first companies of its kind, and was given a licence to operate in Malta in 2004. It employs more than 1,900 people in 12 countries, including 1000 people in Malta alone.
