Lottoland Partner with Irish Red Cross

An initiative which will result in the digital makeover of the Irish Red Cross ambulance fleet nationwide was revealed today in a launch where online lottery company Lottoland announced the Irish Red Cross as their chosen charity for 2018.

The Irish Red Cross was selected because of the variety of its humanitarian projects both at home and abroad, and the success it has had across many different types of communities.

The new corporate partnership will commence with a game-changing crowdfunding initiative as part of a major donation which will see the provision, by the Irish Red Cross, of even more emergency care and services to the Irish public, and may therefore see the charity save even more lives in 2018.

By digitising all traditional paper-based administration for the charity’s entire fleet of 130 emergency ambulances, each ambulance  crew will save 1.5 hours per day which equates to an  impressive 71,175 personnel hours per year. This potentially life-saving project will kick off with Lottoland donating the entire sales proceedings of this Friday night’s massive EuroMillions draw of €174M to deliver the estimated €50,000 needed to deliver the ambulance digital makeover.

The project will target a key operational area of the Irish Red Cross’ infrastructure, made up of 2,000 uniformed members, who provide emergency ambulance and first aid services to the community at major public events in almost every corner of the country. Discarding the old paper-based management systems will dramatically improve efficiency around such critical tasks as ambulatory-care reports, patient-care reports, lifesaving equipment checks and daily fleet management.

Lottoland’s Irish Country Manager Graham Ross said “This is our most ambitious CSR charity project in Ireland to date and our first full-scale partnership with a major Irish charity. We are delighted to be partnering with the Irish Red Cross, who do so much for medical care, the elderly and disaster relief at home and abroad. In working together to plan the partnership projects, we’ve learned so much about the incredible work they do, particularly their huge volunteer base who give their time so selflessly for those less fortunate.

As a disruptive digital technology company with innovation in its DNA, we are particularly excited to be working to generate funds for the digitisation of the ambulance fleet. Now we just hope that the Irish public at large support the partnership by digging deep and generating a massive donation via our truly unique EuroMillions Rollover draw on Lottoland.ie and the Lottoland App this Friday. Remember every single cent spent on the draw will go to the Irish Red Cross and that has to be something to really get behind!”

Irish Red Cross’ National Director of Units Tony Lawlor added “The new tablet devices will greatly enhance the ability of Irish Red Cross volunteers on local event ambulance cover nationwide to report on patient care securely and in real time.

Not only that but the devices will allow us record vehicle pre-event checks, log volunteer hours and confirm crew cover so this valuable sponsorship will really make a difference to the quality of event cover and reporting that the Irish Red Cross provides in future.”
