Betsson launches AR app

Since its launch on June 14, Betsson’s new AR app “Betsson AR” has climbed and become one of the 50 most downloaded sports apps in Sweden in AppStore.

The app was developed in collaboration with Expressen, Bonnier News Brand Studio, DVA Studio and Vizeum. The aim is to offer a whole new experience of the World Cup. By browsing the Express and simultaneously targeting the phone to Betsson’s ad, the user can experience how a football arena is built up, take part in team settings and the latest updates and odds during the game.

“We are the first game company to launch an AR app. In short, we want to offer our customers a better user experience, add entertainment to the World Championship and draw on the limits on how to experience life sports, “said Raúl Valencia López , Marketing Manager at Betsson.

The concept was created by the Bonnier News Innovation Department, Bonnier News Brand Studio, and wants to visualize what’s happening in the World Cup in real time. It is described as a seamless transition between the printed media and the three-dimensional stadium in which the World Cup takes place.
