DraftKings lead Pennsylvania DFS market

Fantasy Sports

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has unveiled the revenue figures for the second month of regulated fantasy sports contests, and well, they’re even less impressive than the first.

For the month of June, FanDuel, DraftKings, and a slew of lesser-knowns collectively generated $1.02 million in adjusted revenue, $152.7k of which was paid in taxes to Pennsylvania. This marks a fairly significant falloff for the nascent industry, which tallied $1.332 million in its first full month of operation.

It also represents a mere pittance compared to what just about every other gambling vertical produces for the state, including one that hasn’t even launched yet.

As was the case last month, heavy-hitters DraftKings and FanDuel dominated the show, with the former pulling in $511,235 and FanDuel, $490,039. Worth noting is that the two flipped positions, as in May it was FanDuel that generated slightly more revenue.
