An old brand with a new twist is set to emerge in the bookmaking ranks with CrownBet and William Hill to combine as BetEasy.

Account holders from both bookmakers received correspondence on Tuesday that the pair are amalgamating to form BetEasy.

CrownBet had attempted revive the Sportingbet brand but this was blocked by Sportsbet, who successfully secured a court injunction to prevent the move.

CrownBet were required to rebrand since Crown Resorts sold its 62 per cent stakes to Canadian wagering operator The Stars Group in February.

The correspondence from CrownBet said accounts will be transferred to BetEasy in the coming weeks, with William Hill to follow soon after.
