CrownBet Launches New Ad Campaign ahead of rebrand to Beteasy

Marketing

Online betting agency Crownbet has reverted to its original name, Beateasy, after the Federal Court temporarily banned the betting service from changing its name to Sportingbet.

Beteasy originally changed its name to Crownbet in March 2015 and recently had to rename itself again after the business was acquired by bookmaker William Hill with the agreement that Crownbet would stop using the William Hill brand by October.

In its new campaign Beteasy uses ambassadors, Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting and actress Nicki Whelan, to introduce the “bigger, better betting experience”.

The Monkeys Melbourne is Crownbet’s creative agency of record and made the new campaign.

In September, Crownbet “set a new tone and standard” with its first work from The Monkeys, ‘Better Way to Wager’.

Ed Owens, Crownbet chief marketing officer, said at the time: “CrownBet is setting a new tone and standard in Australian betting and we are ultimately passionate about giving our customers a better way to wager. We hope this campaign will get the whole country excited about a more premium punting experience.”

Beteasy’s original rebrand to Crownbet was put to market in a campaign created by Y&R.
