PGA Tour Heads to New Jersey

Sports Betting

The PGA Tour is heading to New Jersey, which is now home to legal sports betting, this week.

The first leg of the FedEx Cup Playoffs tees off in Paramus at The Northern Trust. The top 125 players on tour begin their quest toward collecting a chunk of the $67 million purse, including $10 million to the FedEx Cup champion.

It is the beginning of a potentially historic stretch of tournaments for the 12th edition of the playoffs. For the PGA Tour, with the first round beginning Thursday, it will be the first experience of competing in a non-Nevada state with legal sports betting. And its first appearance in the Garden State since lobbying for integrity fees.
