100% not-for-profit raffle raising funds for charities and grassroots sport across Australia (ex WA and NT),Partnership with Sport Australia, the Australian Sports Foundation and the 50-50 Foundation. Endorsed by Sport Australia and aligned to Sport 2030 this provides a fundraising tool for sporting clubs.

Play For Purpose, a not-for-profit raffle supported by the Tabcorp Charitable Games division, has announced a partnership with Sport Australia and the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to provide a fundraising platform for grassroots sporting clubs.

Play For Purpose is an online raffle for sporting clubs and charities designed to create a highly efficient and cost effective platform to raise funds for their cause. With $500,000 worth of prizes there is a guaranteed minimum of at least 50% of every ticket sold supporting their cause.

The Australian Government’s national sport plan, Sport 2030, identifies the need to assist sports with diverse funding sources and Play For Purpose represents a new funding stream for community sporting clubs.

Tabcorp Charitable Games General Manager John Corry said Play For Purpose is free for charities and clubs to utilise and the prizes are guaranteed. This overcomes what is often a major barrier for charities and sporting clubs in being able to fundraise efficiently and at scale.

“This is a win-win experience for our partners and their supporters. Supporters can simply go to www.playforpurpose.com.au, find the club or sports organisation they wish to support, buy a ticket and go into the draw to win over 7,500 prizes,” Mr Corry said.

“The 50-50 Foundation already has a proud history of supporting over 200 charities with their fundraising and we are pleased to be able to partner with Tabcorp Charitable Games, Sport Australia and the Australian Sports Foundation to provide the capabilities and resources to deliver a new funding stream for charities and sport.

” Australian Sports Foundation CEO, Patrick Walker, said; “We are always looking for new and innovative ways to raise more money to help sports clubs improve health and community outcomes. Play For Purpose supplements the established fundraising programs we have in place, and is a great solution for clubs wishing to run raffles to boost funding so that more members of their communities can improve their physical and mental health through sport.

” “There’s no cost to participate and a minimum of $5 from every $10 ticket will be granted to our clubs for charitable sporting projects, distributed via the Australian Sports Foundation,” Mr Walker said.

“We see this as a great example of how business, charities and government can collaborate to deliver positive health and community outcomes.

” Sport Australia CEO Kate Palmer said Play For Purpose represents a great tool to help Sport Australia achieve its objective of having more Australians participating in sport, from grassroots to elite competition, by raising money for clubs to help grow active participation.

“Sport Australia is proud to have played a critical role in bringing this concept to life for community sports clubs, giving them an avenue to drive their own fundraising,” Ms Palmer said.

“All Australians deserve the opportunity to participate in sport but grassroots clubs need money to remain accessible. Play For Purpose is an effective fundraising tool that we encourage clubs to utilise.

” Play For Purpose is operated by the 50-50 Foundation and supported by Tabcorp’s Charitable Games division. The division is operated independently from the company’s commercial operations and customer information is held by the 50-50 Foundation. Tabcorp Charitable Games was established to support fundraising for charities and sporting clubs by providing innovative fundraising products and technology solutions.

The first Play For Purpose raffle closes on 27th February 2019 and will be drawn on 28th February 2019. Play For Purpose aims to conduct six raffles in 2019.
