Big Time Gaming turns up the volume with Holy Diver
Big Time Gaming (BTG) continues to rock the online casino sector to its core with its latest ground-breaking slot release, Holy Diver.
The game has been more than two years in the making and is themed around the popular 80s rock song of the same name performed by American heavy metal band, Dio.
Holy Diver features BTG’s MegaWays™ mechanic, giving players up to 117,000 ways to win in the base game and up to 586,971 ways to win in the bonus game.
It is also the first game to feature BTG’s Reel Adventure™ mechanic, which allows the developer to introduce complex narratives and interactive characters to its slots.
BTG has used this in Holy Diver to create three worlds with three tiers of volatility that the player controls by choosing to play the bonus round or to level up and play the base game with a multiplier.
This is unlocked by an animated knight moves along a path below the reels. When he comes across a treasure chest he opens it to reveal one of four reel modifiers.
Instead of using a traditional Scatter symbol to unlock the bonus feature, players collect the Gems hidden in the treasure chests.
There are four colours to collect, and players must collect all four colours to trigger the free spins bonus feature – all four colours can land at the same time.
Players are then given the choice to play the free spins feature at level one/two or decline to play the bonus and upgrade to level two/three instead and return to the base game and play with a x2/x3 Wild multiplier.
If the player triggers the bonus free spins feature at level three the bonus game is initiated with a x3 multiplier in place.
On entering the free spins bonus game, the Holy Diver rock song starts to play.
Players receive ten free spins; Gems land on reels two through to five and transform into Wilds with multipliers based on the player’s current level.
The knight that moves across the bottom of the reels in the base game is also present in the bonus game.
Instead of kicking open chests, he fights mystical figures and once defeated they can reveal diamonds that trigger free spins and re-spins.
Holy Diver will launch exclusively with LeoVegas on the 23rd January & Royal Panda from the 24th January, before being made available to the wider market on 7th February 2019.
The very first spins will be played by casino streaming sensation Kim Hultman (also known as LetsGiveItASpin) and will be broadcast on CasinoGrounds.com on the 23rd January at 8pm.
Big Time Gaming also plans to license its Reel Adventure™ mechanic to other developers following the success of licensing MegaWays™ to 20+ studios in recent months.
