The Turning Stone Casino, its sister casinos owned by the Oneida Indian Nation, and del Lago Casino are all preparing to add sports betting to their gaming offerings.

The casinos are all applauding the State Gaming Commission’s decision Monday to approve a draft of rules and regulations governing sports betting in New York.

It’s the biggest step taken by the State Gaming Commission since the State Legislature legalzied sports betting in 2013 and the United States Supreme Court cleared the way for it nationwide last year.

Now, the draft rules will be open to 60 days of public comments, before adjustments and a final vote by the Gaming Commission.

Earlier this month, the Oneida Indian Nation announced a partnership with Ceasars Entertainment to bring sports book lounges to Turning Stone in Verona, Point Place Casino in Bridgeport and Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango.

Last year, Del Lago Casino announced a partnership with DraftKings for sports betting, but has not yet announced specific plans for a sports book area.
