Registration for the 2019 Gaming in Holland Conference now open & first speakers announced!

Event News

Following the Dutch Senate’s adoption of the Remote Gaming Bill in February, it is now certain that regulated online gambling will come to the Netherlands – possibly as early as 2020.

At present, secondary legislation is being developed, with a public consultation on the licensing regime expected before the summer.

In other words, NOW is the time to get ready and inform yourself of the latest developments in the Dutch market. As always, the annual Gaming in Holland Conference is THE place to meet regulators, industry insiders, and other stakeholders. Registration for the 2019 Conference is now open!

When & where

The 2019 Gaming in Holland Conference will take place June 5-6 in Amsterdam at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the iconic stadium of AFC Ajax.

Speakers

This year’s speakers include newly appointed chairman of the Netherlands Gambling Authority René Jansen; Holland Casino CEO Erwin van Lambaart; and – last but not least – investigative journalist, academic, and match-fixing expert Declan Hill.

Declan Hill to speak at GiH Conference

Declan Hill, one of the world’s foremost experts on match-fixing and corruption in sports, is best known for his ground-breaking book The Fix: Organized Crime and Soccer.

The Fix, perhaps the most explosive story of sports corruption in a generation, presents compelling evidence that some of the most important soccer matches in the world may have been fixed.

Program

Day 1 – starting at 13.30

The first conference day, June 5, will focus on the latest regulatory developments in the Netherlands.

While the recent adoption of the Remote Gaming Bill by the Senate ensures that regulated online gaming will finally come to the Netherlands, several important steps with regard to lower regulations still need to be taken.

Join us to find out what future market participants can expect.

Day 2 – starting at 10.00

The morning sessions of the second conference day will focus on business, marketing and B2B services.

The afternoon sessions will be dedicated to the relationship between sports and betting. Representatives of clubs, associations, and the betting industry will discuss opportunities and challenges of the soon-to-be liberalized Dutch sports betting landscape.

The Responsibility in Gaming Awards Dinner

As the Dutch market is slowly but surely opening up, it is becoming increasingly appropriate to recognize outstanding performers within the Dutch gaming industry.

Gaming in Holland, in close cooperation with, and supported by a wide range of stakeholders, has therefore decided to introduce the Responsibility in Gaming Awards.

The 2019 Responsibility in Gaming Awards will be presented on June 5 at an exclusive awards dinner for industry representatives, policy makers, and problem gambling care professionals.

The Responsibility in Gaming Awards will feature three award categories, as well as a charity auction the proceeds of which will benefit a good cause.

Award winners will be selected by an independent jury.

We hope to see you in Amsterdam!

Best wishes,

Willem van Oort
