Casumo Fined For Dutch Activities

Business News

The Dutch Gaming Authority Ksa has imposed a fine of 310,000 euros on Casumo Services Limited.

This company is behind an illegal gambling website.

Research by the Ksa showed that at least for a certain period of time it was possible to gamble from the Netherlands via a website from Casumo. You could pay with iDeal on every page of the site in question, just like on the general page with payment methods. iDeal is a Dutch payment method. More than eight hundred casino games were offered on the Malta company website, including blackjack and roulette. In the live chat, a question was answered in Dutch, in the English language.

Offering games of chance in the Netherlands without a license is prohibited. René Jansen, chairman of the board of directors of the Ksa: ‘The current Betting and Gaming Act does not offer the possibility to grant a license to be allowed to offer online games of chance. The Ksa acts against illegal offers. With the current law, we cannot protect consumers against unfair play. Nor is it possible to control the prevention of gambling addiction and the participation of vulnerable groups such as minors. Fortunately, with the entry into force of the new Remote Gambling Act , we will have the opportunity to do so. “
