Operators register interest in Dutch iGaming licences

Business News

79 operators have indicated to be interested in an online gambling license for the Netherlands. The Gaming Authority (Ksa) started the interest registration on 5 June. Market parties have until 21 June 2019 to indicate that they are potentially interested in a permit.

The Ksa is currently setting up the licensing process in the context of the Remote Gambling Act . The Senate passed this law in February. The law makes online gambling legal under strict conditions.

The Ministry of Justice and Security is currently elaborating the law. When this is done, the Ksa can draw up definitive permit conditions. If the law formally enters into force, the Ksa can process license applications. The law is expected to come into force on July 1, 2020 and the market for online gambling will open on January 1, 2021.
