Svenska Spel appoints new IT director

Mikael Franzén has been appointed IT Director at Svenska Spel. He will be a member of Group Management and report directly to the CEO. 

Mikael Franzén is currently responsible for the B2B business of the subsidiary Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, where he is also a member of the management team. He will assume his new position on September 1, 2019.

Mikael’s long experience of both Svenska Spel and the gaming industry will be valuable in the continued development of our business. He also has in-depth knowledge of the deal, which is crucial for strengthening the offer to our customers, says Patrik Hofbauer, President and CEO Svenska Spel.

Mikael Franzén has been responsible for B2B Pool Games Sport in the subsidiary Svenska Spel Sport & Casino and has been part of the management team since autumn 2018. His career in the gaming industry started already in 1993 at the then Penninglotteriet and he has since then had various roles within Svenska Spel, including as IT development manager and responsible for the online business. During that time, he has also been a member of Group Management for about ten years. Mikael Franzén also has many years of experience as a consultant in the gaming industry with assignments for several gaming companies.

Mikael Franzén succeeds Jörgen Olofsson who leaves Svenska Spel for a new role outside the Group.
