888 approved for shared liquidity in Portugal/Spain

Business News

Six months after receiving a license to operate online poker in Portugal, gaming regulator SRIJ has finally authorized 888 to share liquidity with Spain.

Given the country’s small size, the operator held off returning to the market. Now it has finally been approved, it can be expected to launch this week. The launch of poker and shared liquidity will also coincide with the Portuguese roll-out of 888’s new poker software Poker 8.

The new incarnation of the operator’s poker software went live early this year on its .com website. While it has a plethora of new features, at first glance, it provides players with a sense of familiarity as both the tournament and cash game lobbies are pretty much the same.
