FDJ gives athletes financial support for Olympic dreams

FDJ is now launching a call for applications for a new program to support top athletes for the 2022 and 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games: “FDJ Sport Factory”.

This new program will include 24 athletes from different Olympic and Paralympic disciplines, and 30 young prospects. The aim is to enable them to prepare their sporting deadlines as well as their reconversion. FDJ thus reinforces its historic commitment to top-level sport, in the continuity of coaching young champions led by the Group for nearly 30 years.

This group of athletes for the next five years will be composed of athletes and athletes practicing an Olympic or Paralympic individual discipline: FDJ Sport Factory will accompany, as of 2020, twenty-four athletes aiming for a medal at the Olympic and Paralympic Games of 2022 and 2024.

In addition to a financial contribution of 30,000 euros per year for five years (or three years for the athletes preparing for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Games), the athletes of FDJ Sport Factory will benefit from a personalized follow-up . An annual seminar on career management will be organized and supplemented by a training program to prepare for their conversion, in particular through partnerships with leading schools.

In addition, six hopes per year will be selected until 2024 and will form the nursery of the collective. They will benefit from a scholarship of 15,000 euros over two years, in the continuity of the “Challenge” program. Through this program, FDJ has supported, for 28 years, more than 400 top athletes who have won 162 Olympic and Paralympic medals.

Sarah Ourahmoune and Michaël Jérémiasz, themselves supported by FDJ, will be the ambassadors of FDJ Sport Factory. They will embody the collective, provide their advice and will follow, in particular, the athletes of the nursery.

The registration platform is put online to allow athletes to apply until 31 October 2019. The jury of experts, which will include Sarah Ourahmoune and Michaël Jérémiasz, as well as representatives of French sport, select the twenty-four athletes. The list of athletes from FDJ Sport Factory will be unveiled next December.
