Kentucky Lottery sales have been consistent this year, the company says.

According to a statement of financial review, Kentucky Lottery said its ticket sales from July to August were around $170 million, up almost $1 million from this time last year.

Sales for Cash Ball 225, the company said, are at $2.7 million this period, up from $1.9 million last year. Instant Play games on iLottery are $1.1 million more this period than last year and Pick 3 sales hit $25 million, up $446,000 from last year.

Wheel of Fortune has been the best-selling scratch-off ticket over the last few weeks, the company statement said, and this month is “much more robust than September 2018 and the month should close out very successfully.”

The lottery fever has been in no shortage locally this summer, and some Kentuckians and Hoosiers have gotten lucky as a result.

Though Kentucky isn’t yet there, it’s getting closer. Backers of a bill that would regulate and tax wagering on sports betting other than horse racing say the necessary votes should be in place when the state legislature reconvenes in January.
