Camelot appoints CFO Clare Swindell to its Board

Camelot UK Lotteries operator of the UK National Lottery, have announced that its Chief Financial Officer Clare Swindell has been appointed to its Board joining Chief Executive Nigel Railton as the second Executive Director to sit on the Board.

Clare’s appointment acknowledges the vital role that she plays in governance arrangements including strong financial management and operational controls which are critical to the Board’s remit.

Clare joined Camelot in May 2017 from dunnhumby, where she was Group CFO for three years and led a number of key projects, including a major finance transformation programme. Prior to dunnhumby, Clare had a successful and varied career at Tesco with over 17 years in both finance and operational roles, including positions in strategy and commercial, CFO for Tesco.com and Group Audit Director.

Camelot Chairman, Sir Hugh Robertson commented: “I am delighted to welcome Clare to the Camelot Board. Since joining Camelot just over two years ago, Clare’s wide-ranging operational experience – as well as her extensive knowledge of strategic finance and internal control processes – has added great value to the business.

“This appointment recognises Clare’s seniority and contribution, and while her role and responsibilities as CFO will remain unchanged, she will be taking on additional and important statutory duties and obligations. The rest of the Board and I very much look forward to working with Clare in this enhanced capacity.”

Camelot’s Chairman is Sir Hugh Robertson and Robert Walker is the Deputy Chairman & Senior Independent Director. The other Non-Executive Directors are Jo Taylor, Jane Rowe, Jennelle Tilling, Rob Rowley and Gill Whitehead. Chief Executive Nigel Railton also sits on the Board
