Londonderry based company S3 Alliance has been reimbursed £590,000 after a former employee used the company’s Bank of Ireland and AMEX credit cards to gamble.

Tracey Curran, from Moyola Drive, Derry, admitted six counts of fraud at an earlier court appearance in October.

At Londonderry Crown Court on Tuesday, a Public Prosecution Barrister said 32 Red has refunded the firm.

The barrister said the “the money has been reimbursed as a gratuity”

Judge Philip Babington said Curran had spent all of the money online with 32Red. “She obtained all of the money through fraud and the money has all been lost to the gambling site,” he said.

Defence barrister Eoghan Devlin said he wanted to engage the services of an accountant to determine the exact amount involved in the fraud.
