Pennsylvania casinos set record for total revenue in 2019

Business News

Pennsylvania’s casinos generated $3.4 billion in 2019.

According to new data from the state’s gaming control board, that is a nearly 5% increase from the year before. That is about as much as Atlantic City generated last year.

Rivers Casino reported more than $392 million in revenue in 2019. That is the third-highest in the state behind Parx Casino near Philadelphia and Wind Creek Bethlehem.

And more than $12 million of that revenue came from sports betting, which was just legalized in Pennsylvania within the last few years.

The slot revenue helps fund property tax reductions for certain homeowners, and according to the gaming control board, it reduced property taxes by an average of $200 per household.
