Norsk Tipping will share out NOK 225 to grassroot teams and associations throughout Norway.

Due to the corona virus, we have had to put many of the activities we love so much on hold. The grass root share means a lot to many teams and associations, and it is with great pleasure that we now pay out grass roots funds for the first four months of 2020, says Åsne Havnelid, Managing Director of Norsk Tipping.

There has been excitement about the consequences the corona situation would have for the grassroot share. We can see that the sum paid out is only NOK 3 million lower than in the same payment last year. Nevertheless, there may be teams and associations that experience greater decline than others.

Associations with a high proportion of sports players among their grassroots will experience a greater decline than those who do not. The lack of active sports has, of course, caused a large drop in turnover at Oddsen, and the Tipp coupon has been out of business for many weeks. It also impacts on the grass root share.

Almost 1.3 million of Norsk Tipping’s customers have chosen a grass root recipient. It costs them nothing, and an amount equal to seven percent of their bets goes to the grassroots receiver chosen by the customer. This is the game customer’s support directly to the association or club they love.
