Gibraltar-based Pragmatic Solutions has appointed industry veteran Ashley Lang as its new CEO.

Lang brings a profound understanding of the iGaming industry having worked with Mansion and serving as Odobo CEO for five years. Lang currently holds a non-executive role at betting giant bet365.

What drew you to Pragmatic Solutions?

Pragmatic Solutions is a sister-company of the tremendously successful content business, Pragmatic Play. I have known the founders of this group of companies for some time and have admired the fast-paced growth of their businesses. I was approached to join and lead Pragmatic Solutions and knew very little about Pragmatic for platform technology.

I asked to be presented a demonstration of the platform as though I was a prospective customer and I was blown away. The core technology team and operations know-how were born out of the experience and scale of one of the largest multi-brand, multi-jurisdiction operators in the industry (Party Gaming).

This expertise was then applied to the development of a modern, API-based, modular new technology solution that supports multiple-brands, jurisdictions, languages, and currencies on a single back office.

The entire system is rules-based so it allows the operator to build customer routines and automations to support marketing, player management and compliance in real-time.

Behind the technology, I met a talented and passionate team that is consistently driving the technology forward based upon customer demands, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.  Although Pragmatic Solutions is already successful, I saw an opportunity to build upon this foundation and establish Pragmatic Solutions as a market leader in intelligent platform technology.

This is what I bring my energy and experience here to do.  In today’s market operators need a core platform that is robust, scalable, and flexible to allow for tailored operations management for each jurisdiction and for each player segment.

They need a platform that is open and allows for best-of-breed 3rd-party content and service vendors to quickly be integrated and deployed.  Most of these core services that I describe are ‘commodity’ technical services, common to all operators and expensive to develop and maintain.  With Pragmatic Solutions operators can rely on us to focus on this core technology stack and help them accelerate into new markets, lead with new content, and streamline operations. Should they choose to retain an in-house development team, they can dedicate their internal resources to developing extensions from our platform that create truly differentiated customer experiences – this is what an in-house development team is for.

I’ve experienced this myself as an operator and believe that these conversations are happening in boardrooms across the industry.  Our model is a partnership with our customer where we both win when we help them grow their business and maximise their margins by bringing powerful technology and cost efficiencies.

I joined Pragmatic Solutions to tell this story and deliver intelligent platform technology to our operator partners. I am excited about the next phase for Pragmatic and our operator partners and welcome a discussion with any operator who is looking to upgrade their core technology and optimise their business.
