Horse racing at ATG increased by 19 percent during the first half of 2020 compared with the same period in 2019.

The sports and casino gaming areas increased by 39 percent. – ATG’s total revenues amounted to 3.1 billion and have grown by 22 percent.

The total revenues include net gaming revenues and also, among other things, international revenues that increased as a result of the great international interest in betting on Swedish equestrian sports during the spring, says Lotta Nilsson Viitala, CFO at ATG.

All figures refer to the entire ATG Group. The comparative figures for the first quarter of 2019 do not include the Danish subsidiary Ecosys.

ATG had good growth during the second half of 2019, which lagged behind in 2020. From the second half of March, the gaming market was strongly affected by the corona pandemic. The range of sports games was largely non-existent, which instead increased interest both nationally and internationally in playing Swedish equestrian sports.

This is one reason why horse racing, ATG’s largest gaming area, increased during the half year by 19 percent in net sales. Other reasons for the increase are launched news in ATG’s products and that there were seven more jackpots on V75 than in the first half of 2019, says Lotta Nilsson Viitala. ATG’s relatively new gaming areas, sports betting and casino, have also grown, by 39 percent, compared to the same period last year. All gaming areas have growth both in Sweden and in Denmark.

Net gaming revenues were just over SEK 2.5 billion in the half year for the Group, a growth of 21 percent compared with last year. Net gaming revenues include ATG’s three gaming areas: horse, sports and casino. 2 percentage points of growth is an effect of the subsidiary in Denmark.

ATG’s total revenues amounted to 3.1 billion and have grown by 22 percent.

ATG has approximately 1.4 million active and registered customers, an increase of 10 percent. Since a year ago, ATG also reports the proportion of green customers and green sales. Customers are encouraged to take a self-test on atg.se and of the 74,000 customers who have done so far, 87 percent are green in their gambling.

ATG’s operating profit for the first half of the year was SEK 1,020 million, an improvement of SEK 430 million. Another way to see how things are going for ATG is to look at the result before transactions with the owners. It was 1,410 million during the half year, which is an improvement of 491 million.
