Continent 8 hires new sales account director to support LatAm expansion
Continent 8 Technologies has appointed Jorge Morales as Sales Account Director to support its strategic expansion in Latin America.
Jorge has more than 15 years’ experience in the iGaming sector and joins the business from Playtech where he was LatAm Sales Manager. Prior to that he was Head of Sales (LatAm) at Microgaming for five years.
The move further strengthens Continent 8’s team in the region which includes General Manager Gabriel Szlaifsztein, and Americas Managing Director Nick Nally.
Nick Nally said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jorge because he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the LatAm iGaming sector. As a highly skilled sales professional with an excellent record in the gambling and casinos industry, he is a very valuable addition to our team. Jorge joins us at a very exciting time for the business too because November sees us enter the LatAm market with the launch of our cloud solution in Colombia.”
Jorge, who is fluent in English and Spanish and has a degree in electronics engineering technology from the University of Puerto Rico, commented: “Continent 8 is an independent, international business on a mission to discover and deliver innovative technology solutions for the global iGaming industry. I was impressed by the company’s commitment to make a significant investment in Latin America – it’s a business with a big future across the Americas and globally, and I’m looking forward to playing a part in that exciting journey.”
The Colombia launch sees Continent 8 offering a multi-tenanted, scalable and resilient IaaS platform to host customer infrastructure as virtual machines. The platform is connected to the MSP’s Backbone Global Network which is based in Bogotá’s free trade zone just minutes away from the capital’s international airport. Offering a fully regionalised product, the company’s Colombian entity can conduct business with local customers in Colombian Pesos.
Further expansion in LatAm will follow in Argentina and Uruguay as part of Continent 8’s global strategy to expand its network which already spans over 60 locations in the Americas (including 13 US states), Europe and Asia.
