OPAP have named Jan Karas as chief executive officer, following the departure of Damian Cope.

Kamil Ziegler, Executive Chairman of OPAP, commented: “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to congratulate Jan Karas on taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer. Lately, the Jan performed tasks Acting CEO of OPAP, having a significant contribution to the company’s business initiatives and the actions we have taken to address the pandemic of coronavirus and the impact of the restrictive measures.

We look forward to continuing our cooperation with him, in his new capacity, in order to implement the strategic goals of OPAP and to meet the challenges related to the recovery from the pandemic crisis. I am confident that with everyone’s support, Jan and the highly competent senior management team of OPAP, together with our excellent colleagues, will continue to create long-term value for the company’s shareholders, people, partners and social partners.
