Simplebet to power revamped NBA InPlay

Business News

Simplebet announced that its micro-betting product offering will now be available for NBA games via the revamped NBA InPlay.

Through its existing partnership with FanDuel, Simplebet will power the free-to-play game that will allow users the opportunity to make predictions on possessions and other in-play occurrences.

Originally launched as a real-time fantasy game, the NBA and FanDuel are re-introducing NBA InPlay to engage fans with micro-betting for basketball games, with Simplebet’s proprietary pricing engine and reimagined user experience integrated into the latest version of the game. The technology combines automated market mechanics of a betting market (i.e. creation, suspension, repricing, and resulting) with odds for each potential outcome of a respective occurrence in real-time.

NBA InPlay turns every quarter of every NBA game into a free-to-play live betting contest for site credit payouts, with the goal of predicting the outcome of possessions and other in-play occurrences against odds that change in real-time throughout each game. Players will be awarded 2,000 tokens at the start of each quarter and will have the ability to wager up to 100 tokens on each prediction throughout the game, including what will happen on the next possession and how many points a player will score in the upcoming quarter.

“We’re thrilled to expand our offering into the NBA and power the InPlay game with our groundbreaking technology that will turn possessions throughout the course of the game into betting opportunities,” said Chris Bevilacqua, Co-Founder and CEO of Simplebet. “Micro-Markets have proven to boost fan engagement and drive longer watch times, and the sport’s popularity across the globe presents an exciting pathway for the evolution of in-play betting.”

“We are excited to be working with FanDuel and Simplebet to innovate together around the future of in-play betting for the NBA,” said Scott Kaufman-Ross, Senior Vice President, Head of Fantasy & Gaming, NBA. “NBA InPlay was built around engaging fans in real-time, and with the accelerated roll out of sports betting across the country, this is a natural evolution of the product.”

“As the legal sports betting market continues to expand nationwide, we’re engaging NBA fans with a free way to get in on the action by reintroducing NBA InPlay on FanDuel,” said Kelley Walker, VP of Integrated & Product Marketing at FanDuel.
