French Gambling regulator blocks access to Stake and Cbet
France’s National Gaming Authority is involved in the fight against the illegal offer of online gambling. Noting the presence of two particularly aggressive gaming sites on French territory, cbet and stake, it appealed to the president of the Paris court. The latter ordered their blocking by the main French internet access providers.
Online casino sites are prohibited in France. They represent significant risks of addiction and do not offer any measures to protect players and their personal data. There is also no recourse in the event of non-payment of winnings.
The president of the ANJ seized the president of the judicial tribunal of Paris to recognize the illegality of the cbet and stake sites (approximately 560,000 visits recorded in France in June 2021 according to the similarweb site) and ordered their blocking by the main French internet access providers.
