The New Hampshire Lottery broke its all-time sales record in April on its way to becoming one of the fastest-growing lotteries nationwide.

The New Hampshire Lottery generated $518.5 million in total sales, marking a 32% or $126.3 million increase from its previous record high of $392.2 million set the previous year. Over the past five years, New Hampshire Lottery sales have jumped by $214.2 million or more than 70%.

Even after breaking its all-time sales and revenue records in mid-April, the New Hampshire Lottery continued to exceed projections, ultimately generating $142.1 million in revenue in support of education in New Hampshire — which reflects a 34% or $36.5 million increase from the previous record revenue high of $105.6 million. New Hampshire Lottery sales are averaging nearly $10.2 million per week across all games. Since its inception in 1964, the New Hampshire Lottery has contributed more than $2.3 billion to education.

“We are proud to be one of the fastest-growing lotteries in the country because we know our sales growth translates into more revenue for education in New Hampshire, which is what it is all about for us,” said Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director, New Hampshire Lottery. “With an expanded menu of games, new offerings like KENO 603, sports betting through our collaboration with DraftKings, NH iLottery, and a consistent focus on engaging our current audience and tapping into new markets, we feel confident we have positioned the New Hampshire Lottery for continued success and growth as we look toward the future.”

Sports betting continues to build momentum in New Hampshire, as total sports wagering surpassed $520 million during Fiscal Year 2021 and more than 56,000 users have registered with the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings, the exclusive digital provider for sports betting in the Granite State. During Fiscal Year 2021, players wagered nearly $436 million through the DraftKings online sportsbook and more than $84.6 million at New Hampshire’s two retail sportsbooks, DraftKings Sportsbook at The Brook in Seabrook and DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester.

DraftKings and the New Hampshire Lottery reported the 2021 Men’s College Basketball Tournament, which took place from March 15, 2021 to April 4, 2021, was the biggest sports betting driver overall, generating $15.1 million in wagering. The 2021 Super Bowl was the biggest single-game sports betting event, with the game generating $7.1 million in wagers. Over the past year, the top-five sports betting drivers have been the NFL, NBA, college basketball, college football and table tennis.
