Playmaker appoints Nicole Musicco to board of directors

Playmaker the digital sports media company that lives at the intersection of sports, betting, media and technology, has appointed Nicole Musicco to its board of directors, effective immediately.

Ms. Musicco is a Partner at RedBird Capital Partners, a private investment firm with U.S. $5.0 billion in assets under management focused on building high-growth companies in the sports, TMT, financial services, and consumer sectors. Among a broad portfolio of sports-related assets, RedBird holds active investments in Fenway Sports Group and the XFL. Prior to joining RedBird, Nicole spent over 16 years in a broad range of senior leadership roles at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, culminating with her role as Senior Managing Director and Head of Public Equities. In 2018, Nicole was recruited to lead the private markets investment program at Investment Management Corporation of Ontario, a pension asset management firm with over $70 billion in assets under management. As Senior Managing Director, Private Markets of IMCO, Ms. Musicco was responsible for a $20 billion investment program across private equity, infrastructure and real restate.

Ms. Musicco’s appointment follows the resignation of board member, Jake Cassaday. Mr. Cassaday’s resignation is effective immediately. Mr. Cassaday will remain in his role as Chief Operating Officer of Playmaker.
