FanDuel & Buzzer to link sports betting with live streaming

FanDuel signed a partnership with Buzzer, the mobile live-sports platform, which will allow bettors to watch moments of games live as their wagers are coming down to the wire.

Financial details were not disclosed. The deal, which is non-exclusive, is Buzzer’s first agreement with a sportsbook. Buzzer has existing deals to show live, short-form sports content from the NBA, WNBA and PGA Tour, and it is expected to announce partnerships with other sports leagues soon.

Buzzer’s existing users will see FanDuel’s betting odds integrated into the mobile app and, in the coming weeks, will get push notifications when their sports wagers are about to hit or miss. FanDuel will market and advertise Buzzer across its mobile app and social channels. “This partnership will provide customers with the ability to watch the outcome of a wager for an event that they might not have existing access to,” said FanDuel CMO Mike Raffensperger. “The Buzzer offering is unique, and promoting FanDuel to fans on-the-go or who are seeking a bite-size portion of the game is a way FanDuel can diversify our live-sports marketing portfolio.”

Raffensperger said the partnership with Buzzer is expected to bring new customers to FanDuel. “In terms of driving new customers, Buzzer will be actively targeting qualified users with FanDuel acquisition offers similar to an affiliate partner and prominently displaying FanDuel odds both on- and off-platform,” Raffensperger said. “We believe this innovation will help drive next-generation sports fans to our platform and that having more and more premium sports entities source FanDuel solidifies our brand as the go-to sportsbook.”

Buzzer Founder & CEO Bo Han told SBJ that the partnership not only benefits Buzzer and FanDuel, but Buzzer’s sports fan users as well as its sports league partners: “Our partnership with FanDuel allows us to expand and enhance the user and fan experience on the platform, providing deeper personalization for our users, which ultimately drives increased tune-in to live sports.
