ATG second quarter revenue dips 2%
ATG’s net gaming revenue and total revenue are both down just under 2 percent for the first half of 2022.
Sports and casino are showing growth while horse betting is down from the high levels of the same period last year. It is expected and as a whole it is a strong report. It is also pleasing that we are now Sweden’s largest betting company in sports betting, says Lotta Nilsson Viitala, CFO at ATG.
All figures refer to the first half of 2022 for the entire ATG Group unless otherwise stated and all comparisons are with the same period in 2021.
For ATG, the pandemic led to a higher level of revenues and results. During the first six months of the year, life has happily returned to normal after the pandemic, with the result that competition from the entire entertainment industry has increased, says Lotta Nilsson Viitala and continues:It presents challenges in now maintaining the same high numbers, but we must continue to deliver exciting gaming experiences in a neat and flexible way to develop and grow the company long-term.
The net gaming revenue for the first half of 2022 was SEK 2.6 billion, a decrease of just under 2 percent compared to 2021. After all, it is ATG’s second best first half year ever.
Net gaming revenue includes ATG’s three gaming areas: horse, sports and casino. ATG’s largest and most important gaming area, the horse game, decreased by 6 percent. It is expected given the increased competition from other amusements in the period, compared to last year.
The sports game had growth of 3 percent. We can state that we have taken market shares and are now the largest betting company in Sweden in sports betting.
The casino’s net gaming revenue increased by 47 percent. The growth comes from the number of customers increasing after the temporary gambling responsibility regulation was removed in November 2021.
The net gaming revenue from ATG’s Danish subsidiary 25Syv was 125 million and grew by 34 percent in the period. ATG’s total revenue amounted to NOK 3 billion, a decrease of just under 2 percent.
