Mansion confirms exit from the UK market

Regulation

Mansion Group, one of the most trusted names in the online gambling industry, has made the decision to leave the UK Market, because of the increasingly restrictive regulatory requirements imposed by the local Gambling Commission (UKGC).

The UK gambling market is one of the most mature and well-regulated markets in the world and the Gambling Commission has put in place strict rules to protect consumers and prevent gambling-related harms.

These regulations include, but not limited to, measures to combat money laundering, social responsibility requirements such as age verification, self-exclusion and deposit limits, and preventing gambling addiction among others. Such restrictions may increase the operational cost and restrict the companies’ flexibility to offer promotions and bonuses to their customers, which can affect profitability.

To comply with these regulations, Mansion Group has removed first deposit bonus offers from its UK-facing sites and will stop accepting registrations, deposits, and bets in the UK on January 12, 2023. The company has been serving UK customers for almost 20 years and this decision to exit the market is a response to the changes in the regulatory environment.

Mansion Group was founded in 2003 and has its headquarters in Gibraltar, it operates under a number of online brands, including Casino.com, MansionCasino.com, and Slotsheaven.com. The company has built a global reputation as one of the most trusted and innovative names in the online gambling industry. Between 2006 and 2010 Mansion were the official sponsors of Tottenham Hotspur F.C., while in 2017, Mansion became the Principle Partner of Premier League club, A.F.C. Bournemouth.

This announcement is an example of how companies adjust to changing regulatory environments, and it is important for consumers to be aware that the gambling industry is highly regulated, and laws, regulations and policies can change from time to time. It is always important to check that a gambling operator is licensed and regulated by a reputable authority before depositing any money, and to be aware of the risks and responsibilities of gambling, as well as their own limits.

“Mansion has enjoyed serving UK customers for almost 20 years, but we are all aware of the increasingly challenging regulatory conditions that have led to much narrower paths to profitability and ultimately, the decision that Mansion has taken”, a company spokesperson said.
