Americas drive first half revenue for Aristocrat

Finance News

Aristocrat Leisure has announced unaudited revenue growth of 12 per cent to AU$3.08 billion (US$2.05 billion/ MOP 16.5 billion) for the six months ending on 31 March, 2023, primarily driven by strong performance in its North American gaming operations and global outright sales.

The group’s EBITDA stood at AU$1.03 billion – 5.7 per cent higher compared to the previous corresponding period, while the net profit after tax was AU$692.7 million, 23.2 per cent year higher year on year.

In its half-year announcement, the company said that despite continued supply chain issues and mixed operating conditions across key markets, the slot machine segment of the group, Aristocrat Gaming, was still able to achieve growth, attributed to market-leading performance in North American gaming operations and global outright sales.

The Americas division of Aristocrat Gaming reported a post-tax profit increase of AU$59.5 million, mainly driven by a 27 per cent increase in outright sales units. This growth was attributed to increased customer capital availability, penetration of premium Portrait cabinets, and expansion into strategic adjacencies.

Growth in the international market was, meanwhile, driven by improved operating conditions in Europe, as well as increased demand from customers for their products in Asia.

Meanwhile, the mobile game division of the group, Pixel United, delivered “a resilient performance in a challenging environment”, outperforming the global mobile games market and continuing to grow its share in social casino games.

“This was achieved as overall mobile bookings moderated, and the business continued to manage the impacts of the conflict in Ukraine, including its exit from the Russian market,” the group noted.
