Danish gambling revenue up 5% in April

The Danish Gambling Authority has updated the monthly statistics with data from March and April 2023. 

In the monthly statistics, you can see the development in the gambling sectors betting, online casino, land-based casino, gaming machines and lotteries.

In additional, you will find statistics on the Danish Gambling Authority’s register of self-excluded players (ROFUS) and the national helpline about responsible gambling, StopSpillet. 

GGR was up 5% to DKK638.9 million in April, and was the country’s highest monthly record.

All in all, the total GGR for the Danish gambling market in 2022 amounted to DKK 10.1 billion, which is a year-on-year fall of DKK 287 million, corresponding to 2.8 percent. Thereby the in- crease in GGR for gaming machines and land-based casino was not enough to cover the fall in GGR for both betting, online casino and lotteries.

Measured in GGR, lottery was the largest gambling sector of 2022 as were the case in 2021 The sector accounted for DKK 3,381 million, corresponding to 33 percent of the gambling market. Together, online casino and betting made up just over half of the gambling market.
