Danske Spil first-half revenues up 8%
The Danske Spil Group achieved a total BSI of DKK 1,217 million. and a result after tax of DKK 459 million DKK per 31 March 2023. This is an improvement compared to the same period last year, and Danske Spil realizes an increase in BSI of DKK 94 million and a result after tax of DKK 68 million. DKK higher than the same period last year.
The improvement in BSI is driven, among other things, by of growth in lotteries, with the Tuesday draw for the Eurojackpot well received by players. In addition, an increase in BSI is realized for Elite Gaming’s physical gaming halls, and Det Danske Klasselotteri A/S is recognized from 1 April 2022. On the other hand, a smaller decline is seen in sports betting and casino.
The improvement in the result after tax is mainly driven by an increase in the result for Danske Lotteri Spil, the recognition of the Class Lottery and an improvement in the financial items.The Danske Spil Group was merged with Det Danske Klasselotteri A/S per 1 April 2022. The comparative figures have not been adjusted.
The increase is primarily driven by the Eurojackpot and the introduction of the Tuesday draw in March 2022. The extra draw has also led to a slight decrease in the BSI for Vikinglotto sales on Wednesdays.
In Danske Licens Spil, there is a decrease in BSI compared to the same period last year.
The decline in BSI is attributed to the competition and especially Danske Spil’s responsibility initiatives in the form of, among other things, lowered deposit limits and the game card, which negatively affects BSI. Danske Licens Spil has succeeded in activating a larger number of customers compared to the same period last year. However, customers play for a smaller amount on average.
