Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo gets suspended ban for betting rule breaches

Nottingham Forest defender Harry Toffolo has been handed a suspended five-month ban by the Football Association for breaching betting rules.

The left-back was charged by the FA over alleged betting breaches in July. The charge relates to a period from 22 January 2014 to 18 March 2017, when Toffolo was a Norwich City player and had loan spells at Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United and Scunthorpe United.

Toffolo has admitted breaching FA Rule E1(b) 375 times during that period. He has also been hit with a £21,000 fine, while his suspension will be suspended until the end of next season (2024/25).

A statement by the FA said: “Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo has been given a five-month suspension, which has been suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season, and £20,956.22 fine for misconduct in relation to our betting rules.
