Iowa wagers increase to $245.8m September
Numbers from the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission came in on Monday, it showed new high marks for sports betting earnings and state tax for betting between September at $245.8m.
More than $2.2 billion was wagered in the fiscal year across the state, a couple hundred million less than the $2.4 billion seen last year.
About 92% of that was made online or through apps. About $6.3 billion have been wagered in Iowa since sports betting became legal.
While table games and slots at casinos struggled to grow revenue in August, Iowa’s land-based sportsbooks had no such problems, generally speaking.
