Danske Spil revenue rises 2% in Q3

Danish lottery operator Danske Spil has posted a 2% rise in revenue to DKK3.69 billion €494.8 million for the forth-quarter 2023.

The Danske Spil Group achieved a total BSI of DKK 3,688 million and a result after tax of DKK 1,372 million. DKK per 30 September 2023. This is an improvement compared to the same period last year, and Danske Spil realizes an increase in BSI of DKK 87 million and a result after tax of DKK 108 million.

The improvement in BSI is driven, among other things, by of growth in lotteries, where Eurojackpot’s Tuesday draw and high pool progression have been well received by players. Sports betting realizes a decrease in BSI, while casino games deliver a smaller increase compared to the same period last year. Det Danske Klasselotteri A/S is recognized from 1 April 2022.

The improvement in the result after tax is mainly driven by an increase in the result for Danske Lotteri Spil, the recognition of the Class Lottery and an improvement in the financial items.The Danske Spil Group was merged with Det Danske Klasselotteri A/S per 1 April 2022. The comparative figures have not been adjusted.

The costs of state taxes have increased overall by DKK 1 million. DKK compared to the same period last year. State taxes are affected by an increase in taxes from the Danish Class Lottery, which is included for the entire period compared to the same period last year, and which is matched by fewer state taxes as a result of falling BSI on Danske Licens Spil and Elite Gaming.
