Svenska Spel appoints Anna Johnson as new president and CEO

Svenska Spel has appointed Anna Johnson as the new president and CEO. She takes office no later than June 2024 and succeeds Patrik Hofbauer.

Anna Johnson, 50 years old, is today a partner and CEO of Grant Thornton in Sweden. She is an authorized accountant and since 1998 has held several leading positions within Grant Thornton, of which the last seven years as CEO. She has a master’s degree in economics from Mitthögskolan in Östersund.

Anna Johnson has a successful leadership based on inclusion and building strong teams that create customer value which has resulted in profitable growth over the years. Her drive and curiosity are excellent qualities for the task of leading Svenska Spel. We have implemented significant changes in recent years and are today well equipped to offer sustainable gaming experiences that contribute to a better Sweden. The board and I are very much looking forward to working together with Anna and her management team, says Erik Strand, chairman of the board of Svenska Spel.

In connection with Svenska Spel’s current CEO Patrik Hofbauer taking up a new assignment as president and CEO of Telia Company on February 1, 2024, board chairman Erik Strand will become CEO until Anna Johnson takes office in June 2024 at the latest.
