PointsBet CFO steps down
Sports betting group PointsBet’s chief financial officer Andrew Mellor will step down after its first-half earnings in late February.
Mellor, who has been in the role for five years, will be replaced by chief financial officer for Australia Alister Lui.
The context: PointsBet said the events came about after discussions with Mellor about his ambitions. Mellor helped transform the company from a startup to a global business trading in 16 jurisdictions. No information was given about Mellor’s next move.
Meanwhile, PointsBet is doing away with the role of group chief people officer following the sale of the US business. Melissa Fitzpatrick had performed this role across six countries but will depart in February.
“Andrew Mellor has done an outstanding job in the role of Group CFO as we built a fast-growing multi-national company … Alister has been a critical member of the finance team and I congratulate him on the move to the group CFO role,” chief executive Sam Swanell said.
