Maine sports betting revenue tops $33 million for February

According to Maine regulators, players in the state  $33.7 million in February between Caesars Sportsbook and DraftKings Sportsbook last month.

Sports betting handle, however, ticked down 14.3% to $33.1 million in the second full month of betting in the Pine Tree State, a difference of roughly $6.4 million. The two mobile sports betting apps, which had a combined 14.6% hold for the first month of the year, have accepted more than $120.2 million worth of bets since launching in early November.

The state was able to levy taxes on nearly $5.5 million worth of adjusted gross revenue, resulting in an inflow of $546,149 into state coffers. Maine has collected more than $1.4 million in taxes from sports wagering thus far.
