Danish gambling revenue hits DKK 10.3 billion in GGR 2023
The Danish Gambling Authority has just published the report “The gambling market in numbers”, which provides an overview of the year that has passed on the Danish gambling market.
Among other things, the development within the various gambling sectors in 2023 is reviewed. The total gambling market in Denmark amounted to DKK 10.3 billion in GGR in 2023
“The gambling market in numbers” shows that Danes’ gambling spend in 2023 fell by 1.7 per cent. compared to 2022. Both games on lotteries, betting and slot machines experienced a minor decrease in 2023.Online casinos and sports betting together made up just over half of the gambling market.
The report also shows that Danes increasingly play on sites licensed by the Danish Gambling Authority. In 2023, 90.2 per cent. of the Danes’ online gambling took places on sites that have a permit. That figure was 89.2 per cent. in 2022.
In addition to statistics for the gambling market in Denmark, the report also contains key figures for ROFUS (Register Over Voluntarily Excluded Players) and StopSpillet, the Gambling Authority’s helpline on responsible gambling.
