Delaware sports betting handle surges 440%
19 Apr 2024
The Delaware Lottery reported a sports betting handle of $18.9m up 440% year-on-year in March its highest amount in over two years as BetRivers made an instant impact for the First State’s entrance into the mobile sports betting space.
Sports betting revenue reached $2.62 million in October. Delaware’s October sports betting revenue was the highest this year, showing a 6.27% increase from October 2022 and a staggering 173.07% improvement from September 2023.
The state collected $1.1 million in tax revenue, down roughly $148,000 from last year as the Delaware Lottery’s share of receipts from the state’s three horse racing tracks that BetRivers operates through is substantially less than its retail sales.
