Hacksaw Studios AB (Hacksaw Studios) was granted a license on March 22, 2023 to manufacture, provide, install or change such game software that is used in the provision of online games according to the Gaming Act.

On 26 October 2023, the Swedish Gaming Authority sent an information letter to all players with a license for gaming software according to the Gaming Act. In the letter, the Swedish Gaming Authority has reminded that the license holders may not manufacture, provide, install or change game software for players without the necessary license and also informed that the authority will follow up the supply of game software by these players.

On January 10, 2024, the Swedish Gambling Inspectorate checked a number of selected websites operated by operators who are prohibited from operating games in Sweden.

The Gaming Inspectorate has established that Hacksaw Studios was a game supplier to two operators who lack the necessary license and have an injunction for prohibition. Hacksaw Studios must pay a sanction fee of SEK 2,600,000.
