Illinois has released its sports betting financials for May 2024, and it was another strong month for best sports betting sites operating in the Land of Lincoln.

The Illinois Gaming Board monthly sports wagering report shows that the state’s eight licensed sportsbooks combined to collect $1.02 billion in wagers in May, marking the ninth consecutive month that the Illinois sports betting handle has topped $1 billion.

The $218.8 million in taxable revenue for the first two months of the year is up 33% compared to the same period in 2023. Had Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s proposed 35% tax rate been in place starting at the beginning of the calendar year, the state would have received an additional $43.8 million worth of receipts.
