Lincoln City winger charged with FA betting rules breach
A Lincoln City player has been charged with breaches of the Football Association’s (FA) betting rules.
It has been alleged by the FA that winger Dylan Duffy placed, instructed, permitted, caused or enabled 30 bets on football matches last season.
Duffy joined the Imps from League of Ireland side UC Dublin for an undisclosed fee during the January transfer window in 2023.
He has scored three goals in 41 league games for the Imps, 11 of them starts.
Duffy has until 18 July to respond to the charge. In May, Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali was given a suspended two-month ban for placing between 40 and 50 bets on games after joining the Magpies from AC Milan.
And in the same month, Reading head of football operations Mark Bowen was charged with placing 95 bets on matches, although unrelated to the club.
