Danske Spil delivers half-year results fully in line with expectations
After the first six months of the year, Danske Spil can present a satisfactory account with progress in both gross gambling revenue and profit, while the work to ensure healthy gambling habits is showing results and is being further strengthened.
In the first half of 2024, Danske Spil has achieved a total gross gaming revenue (BSI) of DKK 2,546 million. and a result after tax of DKK 1,000 million. Compared to the same period last year, BSI has increased by DKK 75 million. DKK, and profit after tax has increased by DKK 85 million. It is thus a satisfactory account that the state-owned company publishes today with a continued focus on initiatives to promote healthy gambling habits and prevent gambling addiction, including initiatives that are even better suited to young adult players.
“We are satisfied with the development in the first half of 2024, and I am happy that we manage to both raise the top and bottom line and at the same time strengthen the work to ensure healthy gambling habits among customers. We are proud that the positive development from recent years continues, both in terms of responsibility and profits for the community,” says Peter Christensen, chairman of the board of Danske Spil.
A favorable development in the financial markets and a sale of Danske Licens Spil’s ownership stake in Swush.com ApS also contributed positively to the accounts.
Danske Spil celebrates historical events with the Danes
In the first half of 2024, Danske Spil has raised the gross gaming revenue, which is driven by high pools in the lotteries, especially the Eurojackpot, as well as the continued positive effect of last year’s product change on Lotto with more millionaires and a larger first prize. At Danske Licens Spil, which offers betting and casino, a slight decrease in BSI of DKK 4 million is seen. DKK, but an increase in the number of customers who, especially during the European Football Championship, have shown great interest in Oddset’s products.
“We can look back on six months in which we have strengthened our business and increased responsibility. Danske Spil regularly introduces new measures within healthy gambling habits and responsibility and has also taken new steps in 2024. Blue. lower deposit limits and increased care contact for young adults were introduced in January, just as a large research-based, digital prevention universe – “Play with care” – was launched in May on the company’s website.
At the same time, there is a constant focus on development to make the products even more attractive to customers and thus ensure that Danske Spil remains the Danes’ favorite gaming company and that a financial profit is created for the community primarily through the distribution funds.
