DraftKings pledges another $5 million into Missouri sports betting

DK Crown Holdingsthe parent company of DraftKings, “contributed $5M to the Winning for Missouri Education campaign,” the “largest check to a Missouri state political campaign in at least 16 years.”

The check brings the amount raised for the pro-Amendment 2 effort, a movement to legalize sports betting in the state, to “more than $16.5 million”

Missouri Education, the committee funded by online sports gambling companies for Amendment 2, which would legalize betting on college and professional games.

The committee spent $1.2 million for ads in every media market except north-central and northeast Missouri and another $4.7 million reserving air time through the Nov. 5 election.

If Missouri voters approve sports betting, the states will have a 10% tax on sports wagering revenue, after exemptions on “free” bets.
